I’ve started and stopped more posts on Judge Sonia Sotomayor than I can keep track of.  I JUST HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY!  But seriously, Judge Sotomayor is a big topic to tackle, and one that I’ve decided is just going to have to happen piecemeal.

So far my favorite part of the nomination process is watching the GOP foam at the mouth totally unaware of the extent just how far outside the mainstream their racism and homophobia has fallen.  An example for today– calling Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell “limp wristed” in his attack of the nominee.  Because he wont unequivocally support a filibuster of Judge Sotomayor McConnell is a pansy– at least according to Bill Frist’s former staff.  You remember former Senator Frist- he was Terry Schiavo’s non-treating heart surgeon serving in the Senate who, after not examining her on his own, announced he disagreed with the diagnosis that she was brain dead, thus prolonging a family’s battle to let a love one die in peace.  Yeah.  That guy.

So, I’ve got plenty to say about whether or not Judge Sotomayor is a racist (hint: NOT), and whether or not the GOP is all confused because she’s Latina but they’re having a hard time sexualizing her (hint: YES), and finally, is Sotomayor really a good candidate for the left (hint: I haven’t a clue)?  For now, a little gay-baiting is going to have to do.
