Vegetables.  What?  What did you think I was talking about?

Seriously though, this ought to be quite the adventure.  Despite my hippie inclinations I do not have a green thumb, and I’ve never tackled a vegetable garden before.  Hell, I even have ambitions of canning my own tomatoes to last through the winter and in the throws of pioneer fantasies imagine a root cellar stocked with gourds, potatoes, and onions.  That said, I’ve got no clue what I’m doing, and as the smirk on Owen’s face shows, my family knows it.

So here’s the beginning forays into suburban sustenance farming.  Kelly built the 100% organic cedar raised bed.  The dirt will be here Wednesday.  Owen and I picked out a couple starter veggies and herbs which we’ll plant this week.  We are rolling.
