Even My Toes Hurt

They should really call it “ass flu” rather than “swine flu” because, let me tell you, I fell like ass. Charming, I know. But at this point all my filters are gone.

Today Owen and I were officially diagnosed with H1N1. It all started on Saturday, right as we were getting ready to leave for a night out with some other families. Owen had been acting a little odd (read lame), and started complaining that his head hurt. Within minutes he’d spiked a fever of around 105 and for about the next 36 hours we battled that fever, getting him to stabilize around 101. Trust me. That’s a couple of loooooong nights.

So when I woke up this morning, coughing, aching, and generally feeling like I had been flattened I knew it wasn’t good. By ten we had the official diagnosis. Since noon I’ve been on the couch with Owen indulging in a Noggin’ marathon.

I have some posts in the hopper, so hopefully they end up here in some semi-coherent state. In the meantime, I’m going to try and keep the snot off my keyboard, refrain from spontaneously bursting into tears every thirty minutes, and use this time to get my Yo Gabba Gabba on.

  • I absolutely adore Yo Gabba Gabba. My 1 year old has absolutely adored it from the time he was 6 months old! I’m surprised by how many famous people have done cameos on the show. DJ Lance is my sons favorite!
